I have a hard time keeping a “journal” it feels like a task or another thing I didn’t do today type of pressure I don’t want or need.
Writing is a beautiful art form, it allows my thoughts, emotions and creativity to flow from my brain out my hand onto paper. It is freeing, cathartic and therapeutic for me.
When I think of “journaling” I don’t write. When I think about releasing the thoughts that are dragging me down I write or purge write. Purging my thoughts proves to be healing for me in that all those negative thoughts and emotions are on paper and I can forget about them or at least they become manageable.
I use to worry about someone else finding my writing books and reading the personal stuff that they contained which stopped the creative, purging process. So, if this is a concern for you use loose leaf paper and burn it when you are finished.
I like keeping my writing now though because I go back weeks, months even years later and see how much I’ve grown personally and in writing style. I surprise myself each time I look back at how advanced my thinking was or how my thinking has develop, what I’ve learned in a short period of time but did not feel any of those things when I was writing those words.
Writing or purge writing has given me confidence and is helping me heal from being broken, disease, situations…. everything to do with LIFE!
If you are wanting to start writing your thoughts to get them out of your head simply start with a pen or pencil and a piece of paper. No goals, no expectations; just write! Write what you don’t want to think about anymore. Doing this will also help get your thoughts straight, organized, best of all it will give perspective to your life, problems and issues.
Purge writing is not something you have to do every day, it’s not another line on your to do list; it’s for purging thoughts and emotions when you are done with them so you can move on.
Writing your thoughts on paper will help you grow as a human being because you won’t stay stuck in a rut, you won’t stay stuck in your purgatory suffering. Writing gives your life the quality of cleansing and purifying your thoughts.
KEEP WRITING UNTIL YOU FEEL POSITIVE, FREE, LIGHTER!
It’s good for mind, body & spirit.
Love, Light & Peace
