The Seven Chakras for Healing Part 2 ~ Crystals & Gemstones

Last week I posted about Chakras and touched briefly how crystals are a part of balancing ones chakras.  This week is all about crystals, the meaning, giving them a job to do, how to use them and their purpose. Every month since January 2015 my chakras that were unbalanced were Crown, Throat and Third Eye. So below are the crystals I bought at my last homeopathy visit to try to find balance and to remain balanced for the future.

As I continue to heal and recover I will learn about other beneficial crystals for my needs but these are the ones I need right now to find balance and open or unblock these three chakras. I do other things like be mindful, meditate and yoga, to keep balanced but there are many ways to protect yourself and help in maintaining chakra balance.

I also have to work on speaking my mind more often, communicate how I feel instead of holding in my emotions to unblock and keep open my throat chakra, learning to forgive people who have seriously wronged me to unblock and keep open my heart chakra and finally my third eye chakra is to allow the expansion of the higher being, to expand my spiritual sight instead of being scared of it and shutting it off.

Tourmalinated Quartz

Tourmaline Quartz

Balances opposites & Grounding

Tourmaline Quartz, also known as Tourmalinated Quartz, is a variety of Clear Quartz with naturally occurring needle-like inclusions of Black Tourmaline, also known as Schorl.

Chakras – Third Eye
Element – Earth
Typical colours – Clear with needle-like crystals of Black Tourmaline.

Tourmaline Quartz combines the properties of Tourmaline and Clear Quartz Crystal.  Tourmaline purifies ones own energies and protects from negativity, while Quartz amplifies energies focused through it.  This combination makes Tourmaline Quartz a powerful shield-stone that, depending on the desired intent of the wearer, can amplify and return negative energy, like a mirror spell, or can convert the negative energy into positive energy for the wearer.

An effective grounding stone, Tourmaline Quartz strengthens the body’s energy field against external invasion and deflects detrimental environmental influences.  It is often seen as a symbol of unity and is an effective problem solver.  It eliminates crystallised patterns which are, or may have been, destructive in ones own life and releases tensions at any level.  Its liberating power against negative energy can be used to assist us to actualise the strength needed to alleviate negative or hostile relationships and situations.  Tourmaline Quartz balances yin / yang energies.  It harmonises disparate and opposite elements and polarities, and turns negative thoughts and energies into positive ones.  Psychologically, it helps to integrate and heal the shadow energies, alleviating self-sabotage.  It harmonises the meridians, the subtle bodies, and the chakras.

Tourmaline Quartz detoxifies the entire body and is used to treat disorders of the digestive tract.

Cleanse your crystal and give it a job!

A link to learn other ways to “program” your crystal.

3 ways to use your crystals

  • Meditate with your crystal, by placing your crystal in your dominant hand or on the floor in front of you. Close your eyes and concentrate on the color of your stone. Slowly try to vibe with the crystal’s energy. Remember: “Energy follows thought”. The imagery of visualization is very powerful! As you breath, you may inhale and exhale through the Chakra points. This will charge the Chakra and surrounding organs with vital energy. You may utilize the vibrational power of sound or music during your session. The stones will enhance a positive, reconnecting flow of energy, which will allow you to bring up, recognize and clear emotional blocks.  By “laying of the stones” on the Chakra points, (energy areas) you have begun the healing. While meditating, you may choose to have them visualize the corresponding color of each Chakra energy point saturating and balancing each part of their body.
  • Aura cleansing is another way to effect our human energetic. The laying of stones to effect the Aura can be done in order to prevent, heal or cleanse our life force field.
  • Place them in a velvet pouch and carry them with you during the day in a pocket, bra, somewhere hidden and allow them to do their jobs.

I can’t wait to go crystal shopping with my homeopathic doctor sometime in the next couple of months. I will also take my daughters and help them figure out what chakras they need to unblock. Collecting the types of crystals one needs at different times in their lives is an important task because choosing the gemstone that works with your body is knowledge based.  I hope I have provided a good start in the last two weeks posts to help you on your way to finding the crystals you need to feel balanced in the circle of 7 chakras everyone’s body holds.

The Seven Chakras for Healing Part 1 ~ Intro

The centers of spiritual power in the human body, usually considered to be seven in number. Each center has an integral function in creating our energetic balance. It is through the study of our energetic and physical being that we can create health, emotional stability and spiritual bliss. The openness and flow of energy through our chakras determines our state of health and balance. Our energy system empowers us to maintain balance and harmony on the physical, mental and spiritual level. (Mind, Body & Soul)

All meditation and yoga practices balance out the energy of the chakras by purifying the lower energies and guiding them upwards. Through the use of grounding, creating “internal space,” and living consciously with an awareness of how we acquire and spend our energy we become capable of balancing our life force with our mental, physical and spiritual selves. Finding balance through meditation and yoga is a great way to focus on our chakras by unblocking and keeping them open for optimal health and well-being.

Chakra is a Sanskrit word meaning “wheel”

Through biofeedback I learned that most of my monthly visits my third eye, throat and heart chakras were the ones blocked most often and the longest. As I became more balanced through learning about myself and becoming aware of the chakra system I freed up the blockages by meditating, yoga and the use of crystals. Of course biofeedback as well! I want to be able to keep all chakras open so that I stay healthy and not become in need of healing again for a very long time. Living a holistic lifestyle requires a lot on my part to keep my body balanced in all the ways I have discussed here on my blog. As I heal and find myself I am learning how to live my life as healthy as I can and in doing so I have acquired many resources to take with me into the future for longevity.

Next week my post will be the healing powers in gems and crystals.

Have a balanced week ~Andrea

Multiple Autoimmune Syndrome (MAS)

Multiple autoimmune syndrome (MAS) is a whole new ball game….I have 4 autoimmune diseases which places me in this category.  My biggest question is how to manage having MAS? How to make sure I don’t develop another seeing that I am struggling with Fibromyalgia, Ulcerative Colitis and Graves Disease when all along the underlying issue that caused these three autoimmune diseases was Crohn’s Disease, which went undiagnosed since I was a very young child!

How is this possible that someone can go decades without one doctor seeing the connections as I grew up and slowly developed another and another and yet another autoimmune disease. Even when I look at the years and diseases I had developed I can see that something was very wrong. The thing here that needs to be seen by doctors is that they don’t know how to stop the progression from happening, they don’t know how to clean the gut and keep it working properly. Homeopathy and biofeedback does!!!! I can tell you that first hand. If it weren’t for my first appointment in January 2015 western doctors or medicine would not have been able to help me. I remember being 5 years old my family doctor telling my mom it’s time to have those tonsils out she has had enough infection and antibiotics that it is time.

Then suffering with tonsillitis every year after that at least 3 times each year, then having tonsillitis 7 times between the years I was 8 and 9 and that is when it all changed for me. I can remember the first crohn’s flare I had. Know what I know now and thinking back to that horrible experience. My grades, my activity level, energy, memory, intolerance to foods, aches and pains that were passed off as growing pains, nobody knew what was wrong with me when I couldn’t tell them what I had just read from a novel, sores in my mouth were just cancers. So I learned to pass off every symptom every time I didn’t feel well because no one else thought it was important.

Finally, when I was 12 I had my tonsils out, they were so infected that the doctor couldn’t tell where to cut so he went to deep on the left side and to this day I still get a sore throat on that side. My bunions but especially on my right foot is so deformed because of suffering from tonsillitis for so long that the deformity has made my toe and toe nail grow sideways. I am so self conscious and paranoid of wearing open toed shoes and nothing fits properly, I can’t wear dressy shoes because my foot is so wide. Which if you think about it is such a small detail in the grandness of my health issues.

After my tonsillectomy in 1984 I was put on a 6 week run of antibiotics because I had so much infection in my body from the infected tonsils leaking poisons for so many years. This threw me into another crohn’s flare. Again undiagnosed. But just like my first flare and the one I’m having now I can remember the abdominal pain, diariah, not being hungry, severe exhaustion, fever and incredibly weak.

Once I get crohn’s in remission I will be back in the game of life and I can’t wait. I have plans, I have goals. I’m hoping that I have found the right way to eat for my body while living with 4 autoimmune diseases.  I figure if I continue to stick to this protocol I have designed for my personal tolerances along with intolerance’s I will be able to keep MAS in balance along with all the other valuable pieces of my body balance puzzle I have collected, tested and found to be the best way for my body to function at its best!

The way to keep disease away and if you have a diagnoses to keep yourself healthy is to keep yout gut healthy with good flora and bacteria making sure to take probiotics every day, eat clean whole foods, exercise, listen to your body and learn how your body works at it’s optimal performance. You can find all the ways I have found balance throughout my blog. I started at the beginning of my healing journey which has lead me to this point.

Quality of Life

Over the last 18 months I can clearly see how natural medicine has in fact healed my colitis, lungs, ulcer, blood, and bladder and the slow but steady healing of fistulas and crohns, repairing of my digestive tract, skin, and muscles still taking place.  When taking the natural healing route one must realize that it takes time!!!! A lot of time!!!! I really do believe that everything happens for a reason and the reason for slow healing is slow growth, the growth of mind, body and soul, and in that learning you will search within yourself and find the way your life should be lived.

Poor quality of life

The quality of life when you have crohns and colitis flares changes your whole being drastically. You go from being an enthusiastic, energetic, fast paced, fast moving, quick talking individual to a lethargic, exhausted, sleeping and uncomfortable mess! Before I started taking natural anti inflammatory medicine curcuma I had to be near a washroom at all times, and I could be in there for a very long time. I wanted to sleep all the time, and I do mean all the time, like as in, all day long!

The details of the pain, discomfort, uncertainty, confusion, etc can only be understood and described by someone who has gone through an autoimmune flare, someone who has a chronic illness. Healthy individuals have no idea what its like! My point is when in a flare your quality of life is very poor which makes you feel abnormal, guilty, out of place, a nuisance, unreliable, lazy, and dramatic.

Symptoms return

For the past couple of weeks I tried going back to work but the same things happened before I quit my last job in that I would work and come home and sleep; to me that’s not a life. I regressed ending up having to be close to a washroom again after not having to be for over 4 months, also stopped eating properly due to no energy to prepare meals, cook or bake. Pain in my abdomen returned along with not being hungry, “mental blocks” (if you will), extreme weakness, and severe exhaustion. So, ultimately I made the crohn’s symptoms worse in returning to work for 13.5 hours one week and not making it through the second week only working 9.5 hours. FAIL!

I quit and will not be going back to work until the crohn’s is in remission. That is not the kind of life I want to lead and won’t allow these diseases to control me like that! I can’t just live by working and sleeping, even though these diseases are in control of my body I want my quality of life to be better than that. I have learned to read my body and most important to listen  my body and that’s what I did this time around, rather than ignore it like I did for too many years. I do feel that I will be back to work in August at some point which is what the guy and I had discussed last month, so when he offered to start earlier I took it thinking I could handle it.

Grace in healing

There is grace in healing naturally when you find the right foods to eat for your body to function properly, learning natural methods of taking care of yourself so that you can feel balanced (meditation, yoga, massage, breathing exercises) and finding routines that work best for you on a daily bases. The results that come from natural forms of healing and staying balanced with biofeedback, homeopathy, Ayurveda: doshas, chakras, and crystals have changed my life forever. It’s an amazing feeling to figure out what your body needs and provide it so that you feel whole, clean and rejuvenated.

I will take all that I have learned in the past year and a half with me for the rest of my life. Practicing and following this newly designed way of life I have discovered that works for my body has brought me to a place of inner peace by learning about myself and how I am suppose to live my life. In this place I feel safe, it has shown me the answers to what I was desperately searching for all those years when I was suffering unknowingly from crohns and colitis and had no guidance or direction from anyone.

The Spoon Theory ~ “Spoonie”

This brings me to a new word I found online: “spoonie”. Naturally I had to look it up to see its meaning and origin. It is a word to categorize individuals who suffer from a chronic illness/disease/condition. I have 4 chronic illnesses: fibromyalgia, crohns, colitis and graves (other’s are lupus, rheumatoid arthritis, lyme, ms, the list goes on and on…..) The story behind the word can be found at the link below.
